Wow, are we seriously moving in 2 weeks?? This is crazy how fast this has flown by. Here are a few updated photos of the sinks/shower, fireplace & our wood wrapped windows & doors.

The House is Painted!
Thankfully, they were able to finish painting before the cold weather hit. We are just waiting for the dark cedar stain to go on the wood posts & accents. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until next Spring to paint the garage doors (who knew that painting garage doors was considered an "upgrade?")

Let there be light
Yay! We finally have lights! With it getting dark outside around 3:30pm, it's nice to finally be able to go up to the house after work, with out it being pitch black in there.

Tiles & Hardwoods & Handles, oh my!
They have finished up all the tile on the floors, showers & back splash tile. They have also installed our hardwood floors. We love them so much!! They turned out really nice. Today they delivered our appliances & are also installing all the light fixtures. They will begin working on all the trim this Thursday.

We're Back.....
As some of you already know, we took a vacation to Cancun with the Kaufman's. It was so relaxing & stress free. We had such a wonderful time! Now it's back to the real world with work, Christmas shopping, and organizing & packing our house to move out in 3-4 weeks. I wish I could be on vacation forever!!

Weird Questions
So, we receive approximately 1 call per day regarding random questions on our house & having to make a decision that very second. Here are just a few examples from this week.
Q: Which direction would you like your hardwood floors to run?
A: Not a clue! I have never paid attention to this before & don't know if it even makes a difference.
Q: What color soap dish would you like in your bathrooms & where do you want them placed?
A: Again, who knows & cares?!! Now that you got me thinking about it, I choose no soap dish at all, so I don't have to stress or think about it again!

Cabinets
The cabinets are being installed as I speak! Sam & I went up there today to see what they look like, and we absolutely LOVE them!! When you are deciding on a whole set of cabinets from one little cabinet door sample, you never know what you are really going to get. We are thrilled! They will be finished on Thursday.

And More Paint!!!!
Wow, I am really behind on this blog. This weekend, my mom, MaryLou & I painted my main bathroom. I wanted to make this bathroom different from the rest of the house. We attempted to do a tree/branch effect. We had to paint the whole bathroom cream & then go back the next day to actually hold up bamboo & branches & spray the darker color over it. This is definitely still in the rough stage & needs a lot of touching up. This was much harder & messier than I ever thought possible. Hopefully it will look good once we are finished.

Interior Paint!
We're So Excited....And We Just Can't Hide It!!!!!
Our house is moving along like crazy! It's almost hard to keep up on everything. They finished the siding last week. We added in the cedar accents above the garage & front window, & they added our cedar posts on the porch. This will all be stained a darker color. Hopefully, they will be able to paint the exterior before next spring. Keep praying for weather above 45 degrees & no rain or snow!!

House Update
The house is officially halfway finished!! The framing is complete, along with the plumbing & electrical. They should be insulating & drywalling this week. We are also pretty much done picking everything out for the house. All we have left is plumbing fixtures. Here are some photos of the house from the past 2 weeks.

Kitchen & Bathrooms
After our 4th & final meeting at United Flooring, we are finally finished picking everything out for our bathrooms, laundry room, & kitchen. It's so hard to tell how it will all come together, so cross your fingers it will look okay.
This is the tile we picked out for the main/guest bathroom. We will have these large tiles on the floor & smaller tiles in the shower. I forgot to take a photo of the back splash that we picked out to go with this...oops!
Here is the floor & shower tile for our master bathroom. It is a gray/cement type of color. We are trying to go for a more contemporary look in the master bathroom.

This is our back splash that we will put with the tile in the master bathroom. There will be a row of this in our shower & also behind the sinks.
On to the kitchen. Here is the granite we picked out, along with the back splash tile & accents. Right underneath our hood & above our range, we will have a square accent that is framed in the silver with the larger tiles inside & the colored glass tiles spread out sporadically.
OK, I really hope our wall color doesn't really look like this, but our walls are a mix of taupe, green & gray. It looks kinda purple in this photo, but it's definitely not. Below is the carpet that will go in the living room, bedrooms & the stairs. This is also a poor misrepresentation of the true color. It looks pretty light, but it's really a darker shade of cream.
I didn't take any photos of the counter tops for the bathrooms & laundry room. The samples we had to choose from are smaller than a business card. I really have NO IDEA what they will look like. What a joke! All I know is that they are all dark & each is little different from one another.
